Education
I studied music specializing in wind instruments and composition at Guildhall, London and also at the Bruxelles Conservatoire. This was later followed by a BA (Hons) in English, London. Further to this I received two honorary Ph D’s for services to poetry from Madras and Arkansus.
Statement
For many years I worked as a freelance musician and composer in this country and abroad. I also taught a variety of wind instruments and ran day courses for young people. I became a Carmelite nun twenty years ago and have been on the core group for Monastic Musicians for seven years.
I have photographed the work of a number of contemporary religious artists including John Piper, Alex Le Rossignol, Joseph Nuttgens, Adam Kossowski, Fenwick Lawson, Marc Chagall, Stephane René and Stephan Foster who lives on the land of this monastery, to name but a few.
I started seriously taking photographs in a contemplative spirit shortly before entering this monastery. A particular fascination for me is reflections in water. I enjoy the abstract nature of images at the point where reality dissolves into mystery.
